A pre-bid conference was organized today at the Convention Hall in the New Circuit House, Nava Raipur, by the Directorate of Geology and Mining, Chhattisgarh, regarding the auction of iron ore blocks in the Bailadila region of Bastar. Mining investors and bidders from across the country participated in this meeting, where detailed discussions were held on the auction process, investment opportunities, and mineral resources.

The discussion focused on the auction process for three world-class iron ore blocks located in Dantewada district, Chhattisgarh, and one block in North Bastar Kanker. Senior officials and experts from the Mines Department answered participants’ questions and explained the e-auction process in detail.

Secretary of the Mines Department, Shri P. Dayanand, stated that Chhattisgarh is a state with immense potential in terms of mineral resources, offering vast opportunities for growth in industry, commerce, and employment. He said that Chhattisgarh will play a crucial role in realizing the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India), as it possesses vast reserves of high-quality iron ore. He invited bidders to invest in Chhattisgarh, assuring them that the government would provide all possible assistance. He added that the Bailadila region is the backbone of India’s steel industry and its development will significantly boost the local economy and employment.

Shri Amit Dharwadkar, Deputy Director General of GSI (Geological Survey of India), stated that Chhattisgarh is the second most mineral-rich state in the country. He said that the iron ore region stretching from Bailadila to Dalli Rajhara is considered among the world’s significant iron ore reserves, playing a vital role in meeting the needs of India’s steel industry.

Shri Sunil Kumar Jain, Director of the Directorate of Geology and Mining, highlighted the auction process and the importance of the iron ore blocks, stating that ensuring the availability of raw materials is essential to increase steel production in the country by 2030.

Shri Anurag Diwan, Joint Director and Nodal Officer (Auction), said that Chhattisgarh is one of the most suitable states for industrial investment and will play a significant role in realizing the vision of Developed India 2047.

Under the auction process, online tender documents can be purchased until 3 PM on February 27, 2025. The last date for tender submission is 3 PM on February 28, 2025. Interested bidders can obtain detailed information by visiting the Directorate of Geology and Mining, Indravati Bhawan, Block-4, Second Floor, Nava Raipur.
