Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, inaugurated the ‘Dev Hast’ robotic surgical system at AIIMS Raipur, marking a leap forward in the state’s medical capabilities. The Chief Minister highlighted that robotic surgery marks a new era in providing advanced medical treatments in Chhattisgarh. This initiative will enhance the quality of medical services and make cutting-edge treatments accessible to the state’s residents.

During the event, Chief Minister Sai announced plans for a ‘Parivar Niwas’ at AIIMS Raipur, offering comfortable lodging to the families of patients coming from Chhattisgarh and other states. He recognized doctors for their invaluable service and underscored the benefits of the ‘Dev Hast’ system, which extends not only to Chhattisgarh but also to patients from other regions seeking medical care at AIIMS Raipur. He also recalled his role in the creation of AIIMS Raipur. His experience as a Member of Parliament taught him about the need for patient family accommodation. The government is actively working to improve healthcare by approving five new medical colleges and establishing a 5,000-bed Medicity in Nava Raipur. Chhattisgarh now has 15 medical colleges, compared to just one when the state was formed.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal emphasized the growth of diseases alongside modern medical care and the importance of robotic surgery in modern medical practices. The Chief Minister awarded a prize to Jyotsna Kiradu, who won the naming contest for ‘Dev Hast.’ The ceremony was attended by a number of medical professionals and other invited guests.
