    Amit Shah, the Union Home and Cooperation Minister, honored officials in New Delhi for their contributions to recent anti-Naxal operations. He commended their achievements, highlighting the Modi government’s dedication to ridding India of Naxalism. Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, and Deputy Chief Minister, Vijay Sharma, attended the event.

    The Home Minister shared on X that he had met with the officials who played a vital role in recent operations against Naxalism, congratulating them on their success. He also mentioned his eagerness to meet the courageous soldiers involved and his upcoming visit to Chhattisgarh. He reiterated the government’s commitment to tackling Naxalism.

    Under the leadership of the Union Home and Cooperation Minister, security forces in Chhattisgarh have been undertaking anti-Maoist operations. One such operation, conducted by the Chhattisgarh Police, including DRG forces from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur, in the Abujhmad area between May 18-21, 2025, resulted in an encounter on May 21, 2025, near village Boter. During this encounter, 27 Naxals, including Basavaraju alias Gaganna, a key leader of CPI (Maoist), were killed, and a significant amount of arms and ammunition was recovered.

    Among the honored officials were Chhattisgarh’s Director General of Police, Arun Dev Gautam, and other senior officers, including Vivekanand, Sundarraj, and several Superintendents of Police. Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan and Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka also attended the ceremony.
