In a key development, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the construction of the joint headquarters for Chhattisgarh State Power Companies in Nava Raipur. The ceremony, taking place during the Silver Jubilee year and the Ganesh Utsav, involved a ceremonial prayer and the unveiling of a 3D model of the building. The Chief Minister emphasized the building’s importance in increasing the efficiency of employees, improving cooperation among the three power companies, and offering consumers a single point of service. He also took part in a tree-planting initiative.

CM Sai noted that Chhattisgarh’s 25-year history demonstrates how resolve and compassion can lead to remarkable outcomes. He highlighted the significant rise in the state’s power generation capacity, from 1400 MW in 2000 to 30,000 MW currently.

His recent trips to Japan and South Korea confirmed Chhattisgarh’s rapid progress toward world-class infrastructure and work standards. The new headquarters represents a significant step in this direction. He instructed officials to ensure the building’s high-quality and timely construction, highlighting its role in shaping Chhattisgarh’s identity in the energy sector.

The Chief Minister announced that the new industrial policy has resulted in the signing of approximately three lakh crore rupees worth of MOUs in the power sector. This will lead to an additional 30,000 MW of electricity generation in the coming years. He stressed that this would not only guarantee continuous electricity for residents but also satisfy the energy needs of neighboring states. In addition, he mentioned the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, which is helping Chhattisgarh move rapidly toward free electricity, with benefits extending to remote areas.

Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap honored Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee for his role in the creation of the state. He mentioned that the green energy-focused building, estimated to cost about 270 crore rupees, will serve as a source of inspiration for the future. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Member of Parliament Brijmohan Agrawal, MLAs, and key government officials.

The nine-story joint headquarters, spanning 10,017 square meters, will accommodate three distinct towers for the power companies. With a capacity for 1300 employees, the building will feature a 210-seat auditorium, a gym, basement parking, mechanical stack parking, and e-vehicle charging stations. Its construction will adhere to five-star green building standards, and a comprehensive building management system will oversee its operations.

The new building’s location near government offices in Nava Raipur will enhance inter-departmental coordination, bolstering the energy sector in the state.
