In a triumphant moment for law enforcement in Chhattisgarh, 50 Maoist rebels, comprising 32 women, have laid down their arms in Kanker district. The surrender occurred at the Kamtera camp, facilitated by the Border Security Force’s 40th Battalion, and involved prominent leaders such as Rajman Mandavi and Raju Salam. The group collectively surrendered 39 weapons, a development seen as a major setback for the Naxal movement in the Maad area. The surrendering ranks included five DVCM-level and 21 ACM-level cadres, indicating the significance of the operation. This surrender is the first major influx from the northern Maad region, with expectations of another 120 cadres surrendering in Bijapur imminently. Continuous outreach and community reintegration programs are being promoted to foster peace and stability.
