Chhattisgarh Police Solve Murder Case: Wife and Ex-Boyfriend Allegedly Killed Husband

A year after the murder of a young man in Mahasamund, Chhattisgarh, the police have arrested five people, bringing the case to a close. The victim’s wife, her former boyfriend, and other family members were implicated in the crime. The investigation revealed a complex web of relationships and betrayal. Lovely Singh and Akash Singh had defied their families to marry. Following the marriage, Lovely maintained contact with her ex-boyfriend, Abhinav Singh, who also provided financial assistance. The wife’s family, unhappy with the marriage, arranged a meeting at their home, where a dispute erupted. The argument escalated, and Akash was murdered. His body was then disposed of in a local pond. The body was discovered on September 29, 2024, leading to an initial murder investigation. However, the lack of identification caused authorities to bury the body. The investigation gained momentum when a missing person report from Raipur matched the physical description of the deceased. After exhumation, DNA testing confirmed the identity of the victim. It was found that Lovely had a long-term relationship with Abhinav before her marriage to Akash, and the murder took place on September 25, 2024. After the crime, Lovely went to Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh, with her family, using social media to create a facade of normalcy. The police have now apprehended all the suspects involved.
