Chhattisgarh Police Thwart Naxal Plot, Six Rebels Killed in Bijapur

Chhattisgarh’s anti-Naxalite campaign has achieved a notable success with the elimination of six Maoist rebels in a fierce gunfight in Bijapur district. The encounter occurred Tuesday in the Indravati National Park, a known Naxalite stronghold, after security forces received credible information regarding the presence of prominent Maoist cadres. A coordinated operation involving the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Special Task Force (STF) led to a sustained exchange of gunfire that reverberated through the forest for hours. Post-encounter investigations revealed the bodies of six Naxalites, equipped with advanced firearms including an INSAS rifle, sten guns, and a .303 rifle, alongside improvised explosive devices.
