    Amidst the backdrop of Union Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Chhattisgarh, a disturbing incident has unfolded in Bijapur district. Maoists have murdered a surrendered Maoist and a local villager. The incident took place overnight in Yampur Sandra Bor village. The victims were identified as Veko Deva, a former Maoist, and a villager named Samaiya. Initial reports suggest that the killings were due to suspicions of the victims being informers, although this has not been officially confirmed.
