A significant number of Naxal operatives, 50 in total including 32 women, have surrendered in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district, marking a substantial gain for law enforcement. The disarmament occurred at the Kamtera camp of the BSF’s 40th Battalion, where 39 weapons were also handed over. This mass surrender, which involved senior Naxal commanders like Rajman Mandavi and Raju Salam, along with several DVCM and ACM rank members, is considered a major blow to Naxal influence in the Maad territory. This event is the first from the northern Maad region, with predictions of another 120 cadres surrendering in Bijapur by the following day. Intensive outreach and rehabilitation efforts are underway to support individuals returning to civilian life.
