The Chhattisgarh Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department has instructed that kerosene be provided under the Public Distribution System (PDS) to ration card holders, even those with gas connections, in the non-scheduled areas of the state. The state has been allocated 1332 kiloliters of kerosene for August, which will be distributed through fair price shops to eligible recipients. This directive was conveyed in a letter from the Food Department, located in Indravati Bhawan, to all collectors and the state-level coordinator of the Oil Industry in Raipur. All existing Antyodaya and priority ration cards under the public distribution system are eligible. Urban ration card holders can receive one liter, while those in rural areas, including both scheduled and non-scheduled areas, are entitled to a maximum of two liters. The kerosene allocated for August 2025 must be collected by August 31. The district-wise allocation of kerosene for August is as follows: Bastar, Kanker, Janjgir-Champa, Durg, Korba, Raigarh, Bemetara, Kawardha, and Sarangarh-Bilaigarh each receive 48 kiloliters; Dhamtari, Kondagaon, Mungeli, Balod, Rajnandgaon, Gariaband, Balrampur, Surajpur, and Shakti each receive 36 kiloliters; Bilaspur, Raipur, Surguja, and Jashpur each receive 72 kiloliters; Balodabazar-Bhatapara and Mahasamund each receive 60 kiloliters; and Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Korea, Sukma, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi each receive 24 kiloliters; Bijapur, Narayanpur, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, and Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki each receive 12 kiloliters.
