Union Home Minister Amit Shah is slated to visit Chhattisgarh for two days, on June 22 and 23. This visit is centered around evaluating security measures and fostering development throughout the state. Shah’s agenda includes the inspection of central development initiatives, inauguration of significant institutions, and high-level discussions regarding the state’s security, especially operations against Naxalism. The visit is of paramount importance considering the ongoing initiatives to eliminate Naxal influence. A key element of the visit involves inaugurating the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Raipur, intended to enhance the proficiency of criminal investigations through scientific methods. A critical meeting involving Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and other top officials will evaluate Chhattisgarh’s internal security, particularly focusing on the progress of operations in Naxal-affected areas. On the second day, Shah will visit Narayanpur, a district impacted by Naxal activity, to interact with security forces and oversee the status of development projects. The timing of the visit aligns with the central government’s final phase to eradicate Naxalism, as recent data suggests a reduction in Naxal-related incidents in Chhattisgarh and neighboring states.
