Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated a new railway line between Raipur and Rajim, expanding transportation options for the people of Chhattisgarh. The ceremony included the launch of a MEMU train service from Rajim to Raipur, aiming to make travel more accessible and affordable for the local communities. The expansion of the Raipur-Abhanpur MEMU rail service to Rajim was also announced.
The Chief Minister stated that the new rail service provides a cost-effective travel alternative for residents of Rajim, Gariaband, and Devbhog, linking them to Raipur. He emphasized the benefits for students, professionals, and business travelers. He noted that the connection of Rajim, known as the ‘Prayag’ of Chhattisgarh, to the railway network would ease travel from rural areas to the state capital.
The Chief Minister highlighted the continuous development in Chhattisgarh under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance over the last 19 months. He stressed the importance of investment in railway infrastructure for future growth. He pointed out the transformation from a narrow-gauge train from Dhamtari to Raipur to a broad-gauge line. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his support.
The Chief Minister also mentioned the ongoing railway projects in Chhattisgarh, with considerable budget allocations planned for the development of rail services. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including ministers, Members of Parliament, and railway officials. The new service aims to boost tourism and regional development.
