Chhattisgarh’s draft electoral rolls are now public following an intensive revision process by the Election Commission. The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) has led to the removal of over 27 lakh names, aiming to ensure the voter list is accurate, inclusive, and free from ineligible entries. This systematic update is a critical step towards preparing for future elections.

The released data indicates a thorough review of the existing voter base. Specifically, 6,42,234 names of deceased voters have been deleted. Another 19,13,540 electors were removed due to relocation or absence from their registered addresses. The commission also addressed issues of multiple registrations by deleting 1,79,043 voters found on more than one roll.

Over 1.84 crore electors actively participated by submitting their enumeration forms during the SIR phase. The Election Commission acknowledged the substantial contribution of election officials at district and local levels, as well as the extensive support provided by over 30,000 volunteers. Field representatives from recognized political parties also played a key role. The public can now easily check their names on the updated draft electoral rolls via the Chief Electoral Officer’s website, ensuring their continued eligibility to vote.
