    The central government is promoting horticulture and gardening crops along with agriculture.

    Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that the central government is providing ample support in the progress of the state.

    Three-day farmer’s conference inaugurated in Khapri village of Durg district.

    Raipur, January 10, 2025/ Union Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan, said that Chhattisgarh will become a hub for vegetables and fruits along with rice in the coming time. He said that the central government is promoting horticulture and gardening crops along with agriculture. Union Minister Shri Chauhan was addressing the inauguration ceremony of a three-day farmer’s conference held in Khapri village of Durg district today. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai presided over the function.

    On this occasion, the Union Minister Shri Chauhan inaugurated a building constructed by the Progressive Farmers’ Association and performed the ground-breaking ceremony of a training center. A truck loaded with 200 quintals of vegetables was also flagged off for the Maha Kumbh to be held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh from January 13. On this occasion, the farmers honored Union Agriculture Minister Shri Chauhan by presenting him with a garland and a memento. Union Minister Shri Chauhan said that Rs. 203 crore has been released for incentives and grants to enrich farmers and promote horticultural crops in Chhattisgarh. He appealed to the farmers to produce arhar, moong, and urad crops and set up processing units.

    Addressing the farmers’ conference, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the central government are providing full support for the development of Chhattisgarh. He said that immediately after our government was formed, 18 lakh houses were approved in the first cabinet meeting, fulfilling the guarantee of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Keeping the promise of Prime Minister Modi, the state government is purchasing paddy from farmers at the rate of Rs. 3100 per quintal per acre. Our government is committed to empowering and enriching the farmers. Last year, 145 lakh metric tons of paddy was procured, and this year, it is estimated that 160 lakh metric tons of paddy will be procured.

    Chhattisgarh’s Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam also addressed the farmers’ conference. He said that the farmers of Chhattisgarh are very hardworking and are becoming empowered and prosperous by adopting new agricultural techniques. Efforts are also being made by the Chhattisgarh government to ensure good prices for crops and increase production. The farmers’ conference was organized by the Chhattisgarh Yuva Pragatisheel Kisan Sangh with the cooperation of the Horticulture Department. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, MP Shri Vijay Baghel, MLA Shri Domnalal Korsewara, former MLA Shri Devjibhai Patel, Shri Vimal Chopra, President of Yuva Pragatisheel Kisan Sangh Shri Virendra Lohan, other members of the association, and a large number of farmers were present.
