Following the allegations made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi concerning irregularities in voter lists and vote theft, the political environment in Chhattisgarh has become highly contentious. The opposition and the ruling party are locked in a cycle of accusations and counter-accusations. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has also voiced his opinion. He stated that it is not appropriate to question the Election Commission. The Chief Minister stated, “When the results favor them (Congress), everything is fine. But when the opposition loses, they blame the EVMs and question the Commission.” These remarks were made by CM Sai on Sunday evening at Raipur Police Ground during a media interaction, after returning from a two-day visit to Jashpur. During his visit, he celebrated Raksha Bandhan with the women participating in the Mahtari Vandan program and distributed e-rickshaws to 12 women from self-help groups for economic empowerment. He also opened Chhattisgarh State Rural Bank branches in three development blocks.
