Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Chhattisgarh’s 25th year of statehood by launching a comprehensive suite of development projects in Nava Raipur, valued at over Rs 14,260 crore. He declared that the state is brimming with confidence and reaching new pinnacles of development. Key highlights from his address and the inaugurations included the universal provision of electricity and internet in villages, widespread Ujjwala gas connections, and a vastly improved rural road network of 40,000 km. The Prime Minister also presided over the ‘Griha Pravesh’ ceremony for 3.51 lakh houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, reinforcing the commitment to providing housing for all. Additionally, Rs 1,200 crore was released to benefit 3 lakh rural housing recipients. Modi commemorated Chhattisgarh’s heritage by inaugurating a museum and a statue honoring tribal freedom fighters. The inauguration of the new Vidhan Sabha building, a model of green architecture, further underscored a forward-looking approach to development. Reflecting on the state’s transformation, the Prime Minister noted Chhattisgarh’s shift from being a state grappling with challenges to one that embodies security and stability. He also spoke about India’s global stance on humanitarian assistance and environmental protection. The visit emphasized a holistic vision for Chhattisgarh, integrating infrastructure growth, social welfare programs, and cultural preservation, setting the stage for continued progress.
