Chhattisgarh has been honored by the Union Ministry of Mines for its commendable performance in the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) program. The state’s work was acknowledged at the National DMF Workshop in New Delhi, where the Mining Secretary, P. Dayanand, received the award. The recognition underscored the state’s achievement in uploading 90% of the DMF audit reports to both the State and National DMF portals.

Chhattisgarh was presented as a leading example, with other states encouraged to learn from its strategies in data uploading, transparent practices, and efficient project execution on the ground.

The Chhattisgarh government is actively using DMF funds to support various sectors including education, healthcare, water supply, infrastructure, and livelihood programs within mining-affected communities. A total of Rs 16,506 crore has been allocated for 1,01,313 development projects, with a substantial number of projects already completed. The state’s focus on transparency and incorporating local needs into the planning and monitoring of projects is aimed at promoting both physical and social development within the state.
