Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has praised the ‘More Village, More Water’ campaign, highlighting its success in promoting water conservation. The campaign, launched on Panchayati Raj Day, has been instrumental in generating awareness and action regarding water preservation. Key officials, including the Deputy Chief Minister, attended the booklet launch.

Sai noted that the campaign has transformed into a community-driven initiative due to the active participation of gram panchayats and citizen engagement. The booklet highlights notable water conservation projects and innovations undertaken by different panchayats, serving as inspiration for others. The campaign emphasizes public awareness through IEC activities, with groundwater levels displayed on thousands of panchayat buildings. The Chief Minister underscored the significance of gram panchayats in involving the public in water conservation efforts, with hopes for future expansion.

The initiative has utilized various communication methods, such as rallies and wall writings, to educate the public. Training programs across 626 clusters have trained over 56,000 participants in water management and conservation. The campaign employs GIS technology for effective planning and the Jaldoot app for water level monitoring. Long-term water recharge and conservation efforts are being implemented through structural solutions, including percolation tanks and recharge structures. The campaign’s community-led efforts are designed to establish Chhattisgarh as a leading example of water conservation nationwide.
