Chhattisgarh is transitioning from a mineral and agriculture-focused state to a dynamic center for technological innovation and strategic industries. This transformation is being driven by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, who has modernized industrial policies and is attracting investment in defense, aerospace, and space technology. A new industrial incentive package, announced by the Chief Minister, is designed to attract investment and generate employment in these advanced sectors. This package, part of the Chhattisgarh Industrial Development Policy 2024-30, supports the establishment and growth of high-tech industries. Businesses in defense, aerospace, and space technology are eligible for incentives tied to their capital investment, including full SGST reimbursement or capital grants. Investments between 50 crore and 500 crore rupees will receive up to 35% subsidy, capped at 300 crore rupees. Other benefits include interest subsidies, electricity duty exemptions, stamp duty relief, and land use fee waivers. A key focus is on local job creation. Industries that hire Chhattisgarh residents for the first time will receive grants of up to 20% of their employees’ salaries. The state will also provide grants for research and development in defense and aerospace, support for Centers of Excellence, and special assistance for drone training centers. Additional incentives are available for companies investing over 1000 crore rupees or employing over 1000 people. This policy seeks to build an ecosystem for employment, technical education, research, and innovation. Chhattisgarh aims to empower its youth to be job creators, supporting initiatives like ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat.’ The state is moving beyond its traditional industries and becoming a destination for high-tech investment, driving economic growth and creating opportunities for the youth.
