    P. Chidambaram, a leading figure in the Congress party, has backed the Supreme Court’s orders regarding stray dogs. He advocates for the implementation of these directives in every city and town. Chidambaram believes that gathering stray dogs and housing them in appropriate dog shelters is a manageable task, according to his tweet. The basic requirement, he suggests, is government or municipal land located outside urban areas. This land should be leveled and fenced to create a secure area for the dogs. Furthermore, Chidambaram mentioned the need for provisions for food and water, emphasizing that affordable solutions are available. He added that while further strategies can be considered over time, the initial step should be to collect stray dogs and relocate them to safe shelters. He underscored the need for safe and secure roads for all, especially children and the elderly. The Supreme Court has issued an order mandating the capture of all stray dogs within Delhi-NCR within 8 weeks, responding to the increasing concerns related to stray dogs. The court has also specified that the dogs should be kept in secure locations and that any interference with the order will lead to stringent measures.
