Chief Minister Hemant Soren Meets Delegation from Central Sarna Committee, Raji Padhana Sarna Prayer Sabha & Tribal Boys & Girls Hostel, Ranchi

Today, Chief Minister Hemant Soren met the delegation from Central Sarna Committee, Raji Padhana Sarna Prayer Sabha, and Tribal Boys and Girls Hostel, Ranchi, at the CM’s residential premises on Kahke Road, Ranchi. The delegation expressed gratitude to the state government for securing Cabinet approval of the PESA regulations (Panchayat Sub-ordinance and Scheduled Areas Extension Act) and thanked CM Hemant Soren. Members arrived amid the thundering drums and trumpets.
The CM addressed the attendees, noting that over the past two days he has been hearing the emotions and enthusiasm of people from cities, villages, and towns across the state. He reminded everyone that the indigenous and tribal communities of Jharkhand, along with their water, forests, land, and cultural heritage, have long suffered to protect these resources. While many laws in the state have favored these communities, some have been opposed, and our ancestors fought relentlessly to rectify these injustices.
He also spoke of the sacrifices of those who protected Jharkhand’s environment and culture, indicating that the struggle has never ended. He recounted that the vision for an independent Jharkhand state was forged by our leaders, and after a prolonged struggle, Jharkhand was formed in 2000. Since then the state has seen its share of ups and downs, with the rights of tribal and indigenous people frequently violated. Yet the CM received the responsibility of leading the state from the people, and he is grateful for their continuous blessings and affection. He acknowledged the challenges, but with the sincere intent to work for the state’s interest, his journey continued, and truth prevailed. With the people’s support, Jharkhand is moving forward with renewed strength.
He stressed the importance of tribal self‑governance, respect, and safeguarding cultural heritage. The government is committed to strengthening Panchayats, and the PESA law has been approved to empower tribal village councils with the right to make decisions and other powers. The CM praised tribal communities as the soul of Jharkhand’s culture and said that granting them self‑governance through the PESA law will be a milestone for societal and state development.
He highlighted that the youth, 25 years old, are driving Jharkhand’s progress. The government has recently appointed roughly 10,000 young people, and additional employment schemes will be introduced. After thoughtful deliberation, the state government passed the PESA regulations through the Cabinet. The CM urged everyone to remain informed about new laws and regulations so that their benefits reach even the last individual on the path of development.
He warned that some forces may mislead rural people, so all must be aware of policies. The CM reiterated that it is our duty to protect and convey our simple villagers’ rights. He affirmed that the government is the village government, and a strong village equals a strong state. Attendees arrived with drums and trumpets, expressing deep emotion. Their enthusiasm energizes and strengthens the CM. He expressed heartfelt thanks for the continued blessings.
During this occasion, the Central Sarna Committee’s president, Mr. Ajay Tirkia, secretary Mr. Rupchand Kevat, Mr. Munnu Mnij, member Mr. Prakash Ansh, Ajay Kachhap, Raji Padhana Sarna Prayer Sabha’s general secretary Mr. Jaleshwar Urav, Treasurer Mr. Birsa Urav, Vice‑president Mr. Som e Urav, Chairperson of the District Committee Mr. Somdev Urav, patron Mr. Sudhu Bhagat, and representatives from the Tribal Boys and Girls Hostel, Ranchi, as well as hundreds of others, were present.
