Chief Minister Mr. Hemant Soren warmly welcomed tribal representatives from various states of the country at the Chief Minister’s residential complex on Kanke Road today. On the occasion, the representatives called for unity, struggle for their rights, and moving forward with empowerment. On this occasion, the tribal representatives urged Mr. Soren to provide leadership to the ongoing tribal struggles across the country.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the land of Jharkhand has always been a symbol of bravery, self-pride, and struggle. The sacrifices and struggles of many brave men and women, from Dharti Aba Lord Birsa Munda to Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, have given a new direction to tribal identity. He said that the tribal society has played an important role in the creation and conservation of human civilization, and today, the need for unity and awareness in this society is felt more than ever before.

Unwavering commitment of the Jharkhand government to protect culture, promote education, and balance nature.

Chief Minister Mr. Hemant Soren further said that the Jharkhand government is fully committed to protecting the culture, identity, and rights of the tribal society. He stated that the government is continuously working to advance the tribal society socially, intellectually, and educationally. In this regard, Jharkhand has become the first state in the country where students from tribal communities are receiving higher education abroad at government expense. The Chief Minister said, “A new light has dawned in the tribal society; to further brighten it, we must all work together. The government is with you at every step and is ready to provide all possible cooperation.” He added that the tribal society is a worshiper of nature, and environmental conservation is an integral part of its lifestyle. Our ancestors fought a long battle to protect this earth and soil, but in modern times, tampering with nature has led to increased disasters like floods, droughts, and landslides. Therefore, maintaining balance with nature is a collective responsibility of all.

Holistic empowerment of tribal society is possible only through unity and self-reliance.

The Chief Minister concluded by saying that today the tribal society across the country needs to be socially and economically empowered. We all must ensure that the weaker sections of society are strengthened and move forward on the path of self-reliance. On this occasion, tribal representatives from various states of the country appreciated the steps taken by the Jharkhand government for the benefit of the tribal society and assured cooperation with the state government.

Will play an active role in protecting the existence and rights of the society.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Hemant Soren praised the years of hard work of the representatives and said that in the coming days, he himself will play an active role in launching a wide public outreach campaign in various parts of the country to protect the existence and rights of the society. He said that we have to struggle unitedly so that our problems do not remain just voices but become part of the national political agenda. We have to show that we are not scattered people, but a nation-community, and we have to emerge from the corners of history to the center of the future. During the organized program, tribal representatives from various states of the country including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Assam, West Bengal, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Manipur appreciated the efforts being made by the Jharkhand government for the empowerment of the tribal society. The representatives assured continued cooperation with the state government and said that Jharkhand’s initiative has infused new energy among the tribal communities across the country. On this occasion, all the representatives paid heartfelt tribute to Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, bowing to his sacrifice, struggle, and contribution.

On this occasion, Minister Mr. Deepak Birua, Minister Mr. Chamra Linda, MLA Mrs. Kalpana Soren, and Mr. Ashok Chowdhury, along with hundreds of tribal representatives from various states of the country, were present.
