Raipur, December 04, 2025/ Under the special initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, continuous efforts are being made to promote tourism in Chhattisgarh state. Exhibitions and workshops are also being organized in various parts of the country, especially in metropolitan cities, to provide information about Chhattisgarh’s tourist destinations so that people from across the country and the world come to visit Chhattisgarh and witness its natural beauty and tourist spots. The aim of all these efforts is to bring Chhattisgarh on the global tourism map.

Under the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Sai, tourism has been given the status of an industry in Chhattisgarh, and several concessions have been provided for this in the new industrial policy. A Home-Stay Policy has been formulated to promote tourism in Chhattisgarh, particularly in the Bastar and Sarguja regions. Taking these efforts forward, the Chhattisgarh government has launched an innovative initiative of Tourist Guide training to provide employment opportunities in the tourism sector to the youth of the state, especially from the Bastar region. As per the Chief Minister’s vision, a team of 45 youths was sent to the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), Gwalior, for tourist guide training with the support of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board. This group of youths has returned to Chhattisgarh after completing a one-month special training. These youths will be deployed as guides at tourist destinations in Chhattisgarh.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Tourism Minister Shri Rajesh Agarwal have congratulated and extended best wishes to the youths who successfully completed the tourist guide training. The Chief Minister said that the state’s natural beauty, its lush green valleys, and scenic tourist spots are capable of transforming Chhattisgarh into a tourism hub. There are immense possibilities in the field of tourism in Chhattisgarh, which will open new doors for employment and business. He appealed to the trained youths to specifically inform tourists about Chhattisgarh’s tourist destinations and facilities, so that the number of tourists increases. This will boost employment and business in the tourism sector of the state.

It is noteworthy that this special tourist guide training program was organized by the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board after a gap of 7 years. Most of the trainees are residents of the Bastar division. During the training, the youths were imparted training in tourist guidance, communication skills, cultural heritage, tourism management, and practical field training, enabling them to effectively present Chhattisgarh’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. The trained youths will play an important role in taking the state’s tourism industry to new heights by better promoting Chhattisgarh’s cultural and natural tourist destinations.
