Raipur, February 20, 2025 – Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has extended greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of International Mother Language Day (February 21).

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the identity of Chhattisgarh lies in its rich linguistic heritage and multilingual culture. Chhattisgarhi, Gondi, Halbi, Sargujia, Kurukh, Bhatri, and many other vernacular languages preserve the cultural soul of the region. International Mother Language Day makes us aware of the protection, promotion, and development of our mother tongues.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the mother tongue is not only a medium of communication but also a bridge to connect with the roots of our society. In Chhattisgarh, the rich tradition of folk songs, folk tales, and traditional knowledge is preserved in our mother tongues, which it is our responsibility to pass on to the next generation.

Chief Minister Shri Sai appealed to the people of the state to promote their mother tongues, connect children with their dialect and language, and contribute to preserving the linguistic diversity of Chhattisgarh.
