Chhath Maiya worship is a symbol of Sun worship and environmental protection: Chief Minister Shri Sai

Raipur October 26, 2025/Chief Minister Shri Vishnudeo Sai has extended his warm greetings and best wishes on the great festival of Chhath Puja, dedicated to Sun worship. He said that Chhath Puja is a festival of faith, purity, and gratitude towards nature, which conveys the message of a harmonious relationship between humans and nature through the worship of Lord Surya and Chhath Maiya.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that every ritual of the Chhath festival – from offering Arghya to the setting sun to worshipping the rising sun – reflects the importance of discipline, restraint, and cleanliness in life. This festival strengthens the spirit of community, purity, and family unity in society. He appealed to the people of the state to resolve on this occasion to, along with Sun worship, also pledge for environmental protection, cleanliness of water sources, and maintaining harmony in society.
