Citroën India’s C3 Aircross SUV has been awarded a 5-star safety rating for adult occupant protection by the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP). The vehicle achieved a score of 27.05 out of 33 points for adult safety, complemented by a score of 40 out of 49 points for child occupant protection, leading to a 4-star rating for child safety. This marks the Aircross as the 22nd car to be awarded a 5-star safety rating under the Bharat NCAP program. Notably, the Aircross’s adult safety score is among the lowest of the vehicles that have received the 5-star rating.

In its detailed evaluation, Bharat NCAP determined that the Citroën Aircross displayed a robust structure and footwell area, capable of enduring substantial impact forces. Adult occupant protection levels were rated as good to adequate across all body regions in frontal and side impact tests. The SUV also performed well in the side pole test, providing full head protection through the use of curtain airbags.

For child occupant protection, the Aircross effectively safeguarded both 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies when secured in rearward-facing child seats using ISOFIX anchorages and support legs. The model is also equipped with i-Size anchorages as standard, ensuring simpler and safer child seat installation.

The Citroën Aircross is equipped with over 40 safety features, both active and passive. These include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), hill-hold assist, all-seat 3-point seatbelts with reminders, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The vehicle’s construction incorporates High Strength Steel (HSS), Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS), and Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS) to enhance crash energy absorption and reduce the risk of cabin intrusion.

For comfort and convenience, the SUV offers features such as LED projector headlamps, automatic air-conditioning, power-folding ORVMs, a soft-touch dashboard, rear AC vents, and ergonomically positioned power window switches.

The vehicle is available with a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, and a 6-speed automatic transmission. It can be configured with either a 5-seater or a 5+2 seater layout, offering flexibility for different needs. Engine choices include a 1.2L PureTech 110 turbocharged petrol engine (110 PS, 205 Nm) and a 1.2L PureTech 82 naturally aspirated petrol engine.

The Citroën Aircross is available at a price range of Rs 8.32 lakh to Rs 14.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
