Australia’s quest for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 title remains on track as they secured a place in the semi-finals with a dominant 10-wicket win over Bangladesh. The Visakhapatnam encounter witnessed a flawless chase orchestrated by openers Alyssa Healy and Phoebe Litchfield, who comfortably surpassed the 199-run target.

Skipper Alyssa Healy was the star of the show, hammering a magnificent unbeaten 113 off just 77 balls, showcasing her aggressive batting style. Phoebe Litchfield provided a perfect foil with an unbeaten 84, demonstrating exceptional skill and composure. Their unbroken partnership ensured a swift and convincing victory for the Australian team.

Bangladesh’s innings faltered despite a brave unbeaten 66 from Sobhana Mostary. Mostary fought a lone battle to guide her team to 198/9, with Rubya Haider also contributing a steady 44. However, the Australian bowlers applied constant pressure, making scoring difficult for the middle and lower order.

Key performances with the ball for Australia included Alana King and Georgia Wareham, who both claimed two wickets. Ashleigh Gardner and Annabel Sutherland also chipped in with multiple dismissals. Megan Schutt’s early breakthrough set the tone for Australia’s disciplined bowling effort, restricting Bangladesh to a manageable total.

Australia continues its impressive undefeated streak and now sets its sights on a tough encounter against England. Bangladesh faces a crucial match against Sri Lanka in their next outing.
