Chief Minister Rekha Gupta marked a new chapter for Delhi’s mobility infrastructure by inaugurating the advanced Electric Receiving Substation near President’s residence on Friday. Tailored with modern tech in 18 months, it will power multiple metro corridors reliably.

Congratulating the Delhi Metro team, Gupta committed unwavering financial and administrative aid. In media interactions, she stressed, ‘Built to eliminate power issues across lines, this facility cements Delhi Metro’s status as a national benchmark.’

Serving as the city’s pulse, the network handles 3.5 million daily trips, up to 6.5 million with station swaps. Gupta vowed to accelerate developments, referencing recent nods for 16 km of new tracks costing nearly Rs 12,000 crore, including Magenta Line expansions.

The CM’s visit included planting saplings and a detailed briefing on substation functions. Health and Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh joined the celebrations.

This substation not only enhances operational resilience but also aligns with broader goals of elevating public transport, ensuring Delhi remains ahead in smart city initiatives.
