    Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association’s annual general meeting at the Circuit House auditorium in Raipur. The meeting covered the approval of the 2024-25 audit report, the presentation and approval of the 2025-26 annual budget, and the appointment of auditors for the same financial year. CM Sai discussed the importance of nurturing the state’s athletes and developing their potential. The government plans to restart the sports awards ceremony and will soon introduce an outstanding player honor ceremony.

    The Chief Minister also revealed the establishment of new Khelo India complexes within Chhattisgarh. He mentioned discussions with Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya regarding sports infrastructure. To support athletes participating in the Olympics, special measures have been implemented. Gold medalists from Chhattisgarh will receive ₹3 crore, silver medalists will be awarded ₹2 crore, and bronze medalists will get ₹1 crore. Sai also stated the government’s intention to increase the sports budget and foster corporate sector involvement. He referenced the proposal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for India to host the 2036 Olympics, with Ahmedabad as the proposed venue, and highlighted the central government’s efforts to strengthen sports across the country. Chhattisgarh is working towards hosting national-level sports events.

    Cabinet Minister Kedar Kashyap highlighted the success of sports initiatives, such as the Bastar Olympics, under Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s leadership, which provided a crucial platform for athletes from remote areas. General Secretary Vikram Sisodia presented the secretary’s report, with participation from Vice-Presidents Himanshu Dwivedi and Gajraj Pagaria, Treasurer Sanjay Mishra, along with other sports officials and members.
