In a gesture blending personal milestone with public service, Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini on his birthday allocated Rs 1.22 crore for fodder to 14 cow shelters in Panchkula at the Mata Mansa Devi Gaudham event. This initiative fulfills his pledge to cow sewa, deeply rooted in Hindu traditions.

The CM and his spouse Suman Saini nourished the cows with fodder and jaggery, worshipped them, and received blessings. Additionally, he pledged Rs 20 lakh for upgrading the rugged road to the Saketari Shiva temple, aiding devotees.

Saini emphasized cows’ divine status—vessels of gods in scriptures—and the role of NGOs in gaushala proliferation. Haryana’s progress is impressive: fodder aid totaling Rs 270 crore over 11 years, Gau Seva budget escalated from Rs 2 crore to Rs 595 crore.

Registered gaushalas grew from 215 (1.75 lakh cows) to 686 (four lakh cows). Solar plants power 330 sites, with expansion imminent. This strategic push addresses welfare gaps, fosters biogas from dung, and supports natural agriculture, reducing chemical fertilizer dependency.

The birthday largesse spotlights a governance model prioritizing cultural ethos alongside economic gains, inspiring gaushala networks and positioning Haryana as a leader in livestock preservation.
