Strengthening global educational linkages, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren toured Oxford University’s All Souls College on January 25 amid his Britain sojourn. The focal point was a heartfelt tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose decades-long association with the college as professor, fellow, and honorary fellow bridged philosophical worlds.

Soren lauded Radhakrishnan’s 1936 appointment and knighthood in 1931, emphasizing his enduring impact. The visit transitioned into strategic discussions hosted by Professor Alpa Shah, who greeted the delegation.

Agendas covered doctoral funding for Jharkhand students, research expansions, faculty exchanges, and collaborative projects targeting climate action, sustainable growth, tribal development, and heritage preservation—tailored to the state’s unique needs.

‘Our youth deserve world-class opportunities; Jharkhand is fully committed to education, research, and such partnerships,’ declared Soren. The group then explored the Radcliffe Camera, the architectural marvel central to Oxford’s Bodleian Library and a testament to centuries of knowledge accumulation.

This initiative reflects Jharkhand’s visionary approach to upskilling its academic ecosystem, potentially unlocking scholarships, innovations, and expertise exchanges that could transform local challenges into global contributions.
