Coco Gauff has secured a landmark victory, winning her first French Open women’s singles title. The American tennis player, aged 21, demonstrated exceptional skill to overcome World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in a thrilling final held on Court Philippe-Chatrier. Gauff prevailed with scores of 6-7 (5), 6-2, and 6-4. This win is a significant career highlight for Gauff, building on her success at the 2023 US Open, where she also defeated Sabalenka. This French Open triumph also represents her first clay court title of the year, after reaching the finals of the Rome and Madrid Opens. Additionally, the victory gives Gauff the upper hand in her head-to-head record against Sabalenka, now leading 6-5.
