Sudhanshu Trivedi, representing the BJP, has strongly criticized the Congress over its response to the Chhattisgarh corruption case involving Chaitanya Baghel, the son of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Trivedi accused the Congress leadership of defending corruption, highlighting that such support from the party’s top figures was unusual. He questioned the party’s motives and demanded an explanation for its alleged interest in the Chhattisgarh case. Trivedi also raised concerns about the scale of the alleged scam, suggesting it might extend beyond Bhupesh Baghel and his family. He pointed out that Congress-led governments in states like Karnataka and Telangana have also faced corruption allegations. The Enforcement Directorate arrested Chaitanya Baghel recently as part of its probe into the multi-crore liquor scam, following searches at his residence.
