Raipur 13 January 2025/ The end of Naxalism, which has long been the biggest obstacle in the development of Chhattisgarh, has now reached a decisive stage. Peace is being restored in Naxal-affected areas due to the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the strong leadership of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and the indomitable courage of the security forces. It is our primary responsibility to ensure that the violent ideology of Naxalism never raises its head again, and for this, people’s trust is being further strengthened through continuous dialogue, development works and expansion of basic facilities from the Bastar region. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said this while addressing a high-level review meeting focused on the overall development of the Bastar region at the Ministry Mahanadi Bhavan today.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that the clear goal of the double-engine government is to ensure all-round and balanced development of Bastar. The State and Central Governments together are committed to linking Bastar with the mainstream of development with top priority. He said that a comprehensive action plan for the development of Bastar for the next three years will be prepared and implemented in mission mode. Chief Minister Shri Sai directed all departments to work in mutual coordination and the Secretaries to visit the Bastar region to regularly review the ground progress of the schemes.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that along with the end of Naxalism, rapid expansion of basic facilities like education, health, employment, roads, drinking water, electricity and communication is essential so that the light of development reaches the remotest areas and people’s trust in the government-administration is strengthened. Mentioning spontaneous public participation in events like Bastar Olympics and Bastar Pandum, he said that the people of Bastar are fully ready to move forward on the path of peace and development.

Reviewing drinking water, electrification and mobile connectivity in detail, the CM directed to ensure supply from surface water sources for a permanent solution in fluoride-affected areas, early electrification of remaining villages and speed up the installation of mobile towers in remote areas. He also emphasized on ensuring 100% coverage by conducting special campaigns for Aadhaar card creation for children. Discussing tourism development, CM Shri Sai emphasized the need to encourage home-stays, develop sites identified under the Swadesh Darshan scheme, construct the Bastar Tourism Corridor and link youth with tourism-based livelihoods. He particularly appreciated the initiative of providing training to 32 local guides from Bastar trained by IITTM Gwalior.

The meeting also saw a detailed review of collection and processing of minor forest produce through Van Dhan Kendras, early approval of funds for building-less schools in the field of education, expansion of Navodaya and PM-Shri schools, strengthening of health infrastructure, establishment of medical colleges, PM-ABHIM scheme, bike ambulance service, irrigation projects, operation of Anganwadi and Balwadi, rural bus scheme and various action plans related to employment and livelihood.

Chief Minister Shri Sai directed all concerned departments to quickly send necessary proposals for special central assistance to the Chief Secretary’s office so that the overall, balanced and sustainable development of Bastar can get a new momentum.

Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Kumar Pingua, Additional Chief Secretary Smt. Richa Sharma, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Mukesh Bansal, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri P.
