The stage is set for another India-Pakistan showdown in the Asia Cup 2025, this time in the Super-4 stage. However, the anticipation has been somewhat overshadowed by Pakistan’s decision to cancel their press conference leading up to the match. This has fueled speculation and raised questions about why the team might be avoiding media scrutiny. The response from Mohsin Naqvi, the PCB and ACC Chairman, was brief and did little to clarify the situation. Mohsin Naqvi was observed with the Pakistan team, meeting with coach Mike Hesson and captain Salman Ali Agha, and also interacting with the rest of the team in Dubai. The result of his actions and his impact on the team performance is yet to be seen in the upcoming match against India. Naqvi’s response to the press conference boycott was met with criticism as the public questioned the reason. This press conference boycott isn’t the only controversy, after their loss to India in the group stage, Pakistan had demanded the removal of the match referee and threatened a boycott of their match against the UAE, but they have since done a press conference for their next match against India.
