A property dispute between a daughter-in-law and her in-laws in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, culminated in a Supreme Court ruling against the daughter-in-law. The court dismissed her petition and upheld the previous decisions, reinforcing the in-laws’ right to their property. The woman had occupied the house in question for about a year. The court emphasized that she has no legal right to the property and must vacate it. The events, which included the daughter-in-law taking possession of the house in the presence of the police, were captured on CCTV cameras. Legal counsel for the in-laws has stated that the daughter-in-law took forceful possession on February 2, 2024, with alleged police involvement.
