Public Relations Department Organizes Seminar on National Press Day

Raipur, November 16, 2025/On the occasion of National Press Day, a seminar was organized today at the Directorate of Public Relations. Editors, senior journalists, and officials from the Public Relations Department expressed their views in this seminar.

Senior editor Jaiprakash Mishra said that some people, to protect their interests, send similar misleading content together to promote misinformation, which increases its algorithm and readers mistakenly believe it to be true. Giving the example of Delhi Metro, he said that whenever there was any disruption in the metro, Mr. Sreedharan would immediately issue news in the media and also inform about the probable time required to fix the technical error. When correct and quality information is promoted, misleading information cannot stand.

Editor Mr. Ravi Bhoi said that the truth of news is important and should not be compromised. Even if it takes time, news should be broadcast only after confirmation. Editor Mr. AN Dwivedi said that information should be conveyed to the general public with extreme seriousness, based on the quality of information and the impact of its dissemination. Even a small oversight can turn into a major accident. Senior journalist Mr. Ashok Sahu said that if journalism works on the criteria of credibility, there is no possibility of any misinformation being spread.

Additional Director Mr. Umesh Mishra said that the credibility of the media is the pillar of democracy and it is essential to maintain it at any cost. Media has to exercise its responsibility as well as vigilance against misinformation spreading rapidly due to technological changes.

Additional Director Mr. Alok Dev said that the biggest strength of the media is its credibility. Media not only delivers news, but also guides the press, removes doubts, and builds trust. Deputy Director Mr. Saurabh Sharma said that this is the era of AI, and in such times, misinformation reaches us widely due to increased algorithms. We should broadcast such information only after verification. Arvind Mishra and many others expressed their views in the program. A large number of officials from the Public Relations Department and media representatives were present on this occasion.
