Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Croatia on Wednesday, completing his visit to Canada and commencing the final part of his three-nation tour. The visit is poised to deepen the relationship between India and Croatia.

Upon arrival in Zagreb, PM Modi was greeted with a ceremonial welcome, marking the historic first visit by an Indian Prime Minister. The visit is expected to open new avenues for collaboration and cooperation.

The Prime Minister will engage in bilateral talks with Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and meet with President Zoran Milanovic during his stay in Croatia.

The visit underscores India’s strategy to strengthen ties with its European Union partners.

Reflecting on his time in Canada, PM Modi characterized it as “productive,” noting the G7 Summit’s fruitful discussions on global issues. He affirmed India’s commitment to promoting global peace, prosperity, and sustainability.

During the G7 Summit, PM Modi participated in the Outreach Session and delivered a speech on ‘Energy Security: diversification, technology, and infrastructure’. He highlighted the need to ensure access to affordable energy in the changing world.

In his address, the Prime Minister underscored that energy security is a key concern for future generations. He elaborated on India’s commitment to inclusive growth, highlighting that availability, accessibility, affordability, and acceptability underpin India’s approach to energy security.

He emphasized that India, despite being the world’s fastest-growing major economy, has successfully met its Paris commitments ahead of schedule. Highlighting India’s commitment to a sustainable and green future, he promoted international initiatives like the International Solar Alliance, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, Global Biofuels Alliance, Mission LiFE, and One Sun- One World- One Grid, advocating for greater international support for these endeavors.
