    A recent incident of cyber fraud highlights the ongoing threat of online scams. A man’s bank account was compromised, resulting in a significant financial loss.

    The incident took place in the Vinoba Nagar area under the jurisdiction of the Tarbahar police station. Rakesh Suryavanshi, a resident, was the victim of the fraud. The perpetrators utilized an OTP to access his account and steal funds. Upon waking up, Rakesh found an OTP message on his phone. Subsequently, ₹2,35,338 was transferred from his account. His remaining balance was only ₹1,423.97.

    The victim immediately reported the fraud to the relevant police station. The police have registered a case against unknown individuals under sections 318 and 4 of the BNS, acknowledging the seriousness of the situation. The investigation is currently in progress.
