Public safety took a decisive step forward in Delhi’s South East district as police thwarted a heavily armed thief in a midnight showdown. A coordinated effort by the Anti Auto Theft Squad and Pul Prahladpur police led to the arrest of 22-year-old Satish Bhati following a fierce exchange of gunfire near MB Road.

Acting on precise intelligence, officers surrounded the location. Bhati, sensing the trap, unleashed a barrage from his pistol in a desperate bid for freedom. The police’s swift retaliation pinned him down, resulting in his surrender without casualties on their side.

Seized items included six mobile phones looted from victims, a motorcycle instrumental in his escapes, and the very pistol used in the shootout. Fresh inquiries confirm Bhati’s involvement in a frantic four-snatching rampage on January 22, targeting areas like Kalkaji, Amar Colony, Okhla Industrial Area, and Pul Prahladpur—leaving a trail of fear among residents.

The recovered gadgets are being linked to specific complaints, while Bhati’s extensive criminal background faces renewed examination. Manhunts are underway for his partner-in-crime, with raids intensifying across potential hideouts.

This operation highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-driven policing in combating Delhi’s snatching epidemic. As details emerge, it reinforces the force’s resolve to reclaim the streets for law-abiding citizens, potentially unraveling a larger network.
