Investigators are piecing together the timeline of the Hyundai i20 used in the Delhi blast, revealing a complex ownership history. The car was sold a total of five times over the past eleven years. The most recent transaction involved a buyer who allegedly presented identification with a Pulwama address. The vehicle was purchased for ₹1.70 lakh through an online listing, with plans to finalize the ownership transfer post-blast, after renewing its pollution certificate.

The car, registration number HR26CE7476, was initially purchased new in 2014. By 2017, it had a new owner in Gurugram who officially registered the vehicle. The ownership then changed hands multiple times, including a transaction through a used vehicle agency in March 2024, and a subsequent sale to a Delhi resident. This particular transfer was reportedly not completed officially. The car was later traded to a dealership in Faridabad.

According to the Faridabad dealership owner, the car was advertised online. Aamir Rashid and another individual visited on October 29, 2025, to view the car and decided to buy it. Rashid produced his Aadhaar and PAN cards, both displaying a Pulwama address. The sale price was ₹1.70 lakh, and the car was handed over the same day. A dealership employee facilitated the sale for a commission. Financial backing for this purchase is believed to have come from an individual associated with Al Falah Medical College.

After the purchase, the car reportedly came under the control of an individual connected to the medical college. While the insurance policy remained valid, the pollution certificate had expired and was renewed shortly before the incident. The official ownership transfer process was underway but was not completed before the car was used in the blast. The vehicle is still officially registered to the owner from 2017. Investigations have also indicated that one of the individuals involved had previously worked as a plumber at Al Falah University.
