Swift police action has led to the arrest of two robbers in Delhi’s Sagarpur area, cracking a case that left a commuter traumatized. The Southwest District’s Anti-Snatching Cell and Sagarpur police joined forces for this decisive strike against crime.

Caught red-handed in their guilt were 34-year-old Sumit Nagpal of Dashrathpuri and 31-year-old Gaurav aka Totla of Vijay Enclave, Dabri. On January 18 at 10:15 PM, victim M. Kumar faced horror while heading home on his bike near Dashrathpuri drain.

Two men darted in front, forcing him to halt. They seized Rs 680 cash and, brandishing threats, made him send Rs 3,200 through PhonePe before escaping.

Sagarpur Police filed an FIR without delay, forming a specialized unit under Inspector Hari Singh’s command, monitored by Delhi Cantt’s ACP Anil Kumar. Key members: PSI Mukesh, HC Sumer, HC Arun, Ct Nitin, and Ct Anil.

The probe involved dissecting footage from more than 50 CCTVs in a 3-km zone, alongside digital tracing, informants, and foot patrols. Persistent policing paid off with both arrests.

Questioning revealed their addiction-driven desperation for fast money. Stolen funds were retrieved.

This success story exemplifies how coordinated efforts and modern tools are transforming Delhi’s fight against robbery. Commuters are urged to stay vigilant, especially after dark, as police ramp up patrols and surveillance to prevent repeats.
