As winter bids adieu, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is rallying her team for summer’s challenges. Thursday’s high-stakes meeting at the Delhi Secretariat brought together principal secretaries and seniors to assess departmental performance, project timelines, and annual plans.

A firm mandate: register all projects costing over Rs 5 crore on the ‘CM-Progress’ portal in one week. This internal tool will facilitate precise oversight and periodic evaluations, with Chief Secretary Rajiv Verma present.

Gupta stressed real-time reporting on public-facing portals to foster accountability and trust. ‘We pledge timely project completion, departmental diligence, and full disclosure to the public,’ she stated, also tasking teams with high-quality finishes on delays.

The spotlight fell on ‘Delhi Mitra,’ an innovative portal for quick complaint fixes. Urgent action on development, training, and connectivity was ordered to roll it out seamlessly. Positioned as a vital communication channel, it promises streamlined, dependable resolutions.

Foremost on the agenda: summer fortifications. Departments must now secure water pipelines, power grids, medical facilities, road networks, and civic services. Gupta warned against any lapses that could inconvenience residents amid rising temperatures.

This aligns with the broader vision of ‘outcome-focused governance,’ ensuring schemes yield concrete benefits. By enforcing punctuality, responsibility, and transparency, the Delhi government is gearing up to serve its people effectively.
