In a recent event in New Delhi, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah honored officials for their significant roles in the successful anti-Naxal operations. Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma were present to witness the commendations. The Union Minister highlighted the Modi government’s resolve to eliminate Naxalism from India. These operations, conducted under the direction of the Home Minister, saw security forces engaging in various activities in Chhattisgarh. A notable operation occurred in the inner regions of Abujhmad from May 18 to May 21, 2025, led by the Chhattisgarh Police, involving DRG forces from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur. This resulted in an encounter on May 21, 2025, near the village of Boter, leading to the death of 27 Naxals, including CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Baswaraju alias Gaganna, and the recovery of substantial weapons and ammunition. Among the honored officials were key figures from Chhattisgarh Police, including Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam and other senior officers. The event included the presence of senior officials, such as Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan and Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka.
