Devotees in Dark: High Mast Light Fails at Baba Dham, Giridih

A critical high mast light illuminating the vicinity of the renowned Baba Dham temple in Giridih has gone dark, leaving devotees to navigate the premises in the absence of light. This illumination system, situated near the marriage hall, was a beacon of light every evening, ensuring the temple complex and the popular fifty-one-foot Hanuman temple outside were well-lit for nighttime visitors. For many months, pilgrims appreciated the safety and convenience provided by this light, which helped ward off fears of encountering venomous reptiles and other nocturnal threats. The light was originally installed as a development project funded by the Member of Parliament’s constituency fund prior to the last state elections, promising sustained illumination. Sadly, this development initiative, associated with the current MP Annapurna Devi, is now failing. Despite numerous complaints filed with the concerned authorities, the issue of the malfunctioning light remains unaddressed. A group of local leaders, including Mukhiya Ashutosh Kushwaha, Panchayat Samiti members Rajesh Verma, Dilip Pandey, Subhash Panda, Mukhiya Pati Lakshman Mahto, Ranjit Mandal, and Vikas Mandal, have issued an urgent plea for the immediate repair of the high mast light to restore safety and convenience for all visitors.
