The Indian film fraternity is united in grief as it mourns the loss of its beloved “He-Man,” Dharmendra, who passed away at the age of 89 on November 24, 2025, following a prolonged illness. A true icon of Hindi cinema, Dharmendra’s career spanned over sixty years and featured in more than 300 films, establishing him as one of the most charismatic and influential stars of his generation.

Beyond his celebrated acting career, Dharmendra was a remarkably successful businessman, amassing an impressive fortune estimated between Rs 335 crore and Rs 450 crore. This substantial wealth is a testament to his foresight and diverse business interests.

Dharmendra is survived by his wives, Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, and his six children: Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeta, Ajeeta, Esha Deol, and Ahana Deol. He was also a loving grandfather to 13 grandchildren, cherishing his family connections throughout his life.

Even in his late 80s, Dharmendra remained actively involved in filmmaking. His last film was ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ in 2024, and his next project, ‘Ikkis,’ directed by Sriram Raghavan, is slated for release, offering fans one final cinematic treat.

His performances in iconic films like ‘Sholay,’ ‘Chupke Chupke,’ ‘Dharam Veer,’ ‘Satyakam,’ and ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’ are etched in the annals of film history. Dharmendra’s blend of charm, ruggedness, and acting prowess earned him universal acclaim and the enduring title of Bollywood’s “He-Man.”

Dharmendra’s business portfolio was as impressive as his filmography. His wealth stemmed from strategic investments in real estate, popular themed restaurants such as ‘He-Man,’ film production, and other ventures. His expansive 100-acre Lonavala farmhouse, a verdant estate featuring gardens and equestrian facilities, was a prized possession, with potential plans for luxury resort development. He also owned extensive residential and commercial properties across Maharashtra, along with agricultural land. His passion for automobiles was reflected in his collection of both modern and classic vehicles.

His entrepreneurial spirit also extended to producing films, including the successful ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ series. Dharmendra’s remarkable journey from earning a meager Rs 51 for his debut to building a multi-crore empire stands as a profound source of inspiration. He will be remembered for his immense contributions to cinema, his business acumen, his characteristic humility, and his deep affection for his family. His legacy is one that will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of millions.
