Bhopal Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that food is the source of essential nutrients for the body. The purity of diet increases its importance manifold. Explaining the importance of purity of diet, Lord Shri Krishna has said in Srimad Bhagavad Gita that purity of thoughts is possible only through pure diet. With this in mind, Akshaya Patra Foundation is serving new life to school children through mid-day meals. Former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have also praised the activities conducted by Akshaya Patra Foundation under Bountiful Food for Education. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing a program organized by Akshaya Patra Foundation at the Rohit Nagar campus on the occasion of providing more than one crore mid-day meals in Bhopal urban area under the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman Yojana.
Chief Minister participated in the process of preparing and distributing food
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the program organized at Akshaya Patra Complex by lighting the lamp. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav flagged off the food distribution vehicles and also distributed midday meal to 10 school children as a symbol. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was greeted by presenting him Angavastram and memento. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reached the centralized kitchen of Akshaya Patra Foundation and observed the automated process of preparing food. He also participated in the process of making dal-roti. Under the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman Yojana, mid-day meal is supplied to the government schools of Bhopal urban area from this base kitchen itself. Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Patel, Transport and School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh, Minister of State for Panchayat and Rural Development Radha Singh were present in the program. On this occasion, a short film on the activities of Akshaya Patra Foundation was also screened.
Pure, nutritious and quality mid-day meals are being provided to 645 schools of Bhopal.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Akshay Patra Foundation is providing pure, nutritious and quality mid-day meals to 645 schools of Bhopal through a team of 76 employees and 38 vehicles. Preparing 40 thousand rotis simultaneously and adopting mechanized processes even in making pulses and vegetables is overwhelming. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that this process of preparing food through Santvrind also conveys sacred feelings. This resolution of Akshaya Patra Foundation will be helpful in building a society with better health and pure mentality in the coming times. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav greeted all the associates and employees of the Foundation including Chairman and Managing Director of HEG Limited Ravi Jhunjhunwala, Founder and Chairman of Akshaya Patra Foundation Padmashree Madhu Pandit Dasa and Chairman of Bhopal Cluster Acharya Ratan Dasa for this noble service.

Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Singh Patel said that Akshaya Patra Foundation is providing nutritious and tasty food to the students in schools. The Foundation is also helping in keeping the children connected to schools by providing them food as per their taste.
