Difficulty in making license and registration card in Madhya Pradesh. Smart chip company stopped work after 30th September. Smart chip company was working in extension from 2022.
Naiduniya, Gwalior: Now the problem has increased in Madhya Pradesh from getting driving license to getting registration card of vehicles. The extended period of the smart chip company that manufactured it also ended on 30 September. Due to this, the company stopped working from October 1. Now the Transport Department currently has no option to make driving licenses and vehicle registration cards.
Recently, the Transport Department had ordered a large number of smart cards from the smart chip company, so that the work can last for a few days when the company stops working. Smart chip company has been working in the state for 22 years. The company was asked to work till December but it refused.
Dispute regarding company’s payment
According to the Transport Department, discussions are going on in this matter at the government level. Applicants are facing the most trouble in this dispute between the Transport Department and the Smart Chip Company. Since 2002, Noida’s Smart Chip Company was working for the Transport Department of Madhya Pradesh. There is a dispute regarding the company’s payment.
Earlier in June 2024, the company was given an extension of three months. Meanwhile, it was agreed to do more work till September. Meanwhile, the Transport Department also claimed that the Transport Department will take over the setup and employees of the company. Efforts are being made in this regard also.
Extension was being given from 2022
The tenure of the smart chip company actually ended in 2022 itself, which was being given extensions again and again. The Transport Department had floated tenders for DL-Registration Card, in which three companies came, but nothing has been decided yet.
Five thousand cards were ordered in Gwalior a few days ago in fear that people would be troubled due to the festive season, but this is not a permanent solution. According to Transport Additional Commissioner Umesh Joga, consideration is going on at the government level.
