Ajay Devgn’s film ‘Diljale’ from the 90s is remembered for its blend of action and romance. The film is a favorite among many, showcasing patriotism and a captivating love story. The dialogues continue to be referenced in online memes. Sonali Bendre, who starred in the film, wasn’t the first choice.

The film was offered to Ajay Devgn first, and previously, the filmmakers had worked with him on the hit film ‘Dilwale’ (1994). The filmmakers initially wanted to cast Juhi Chawla, but due to her other commitments, she couldn’t accept the role. Then Sonali Bendre was offered the part.

‘Diljale’ was directed by Harry Baweja and produced by Harry and Paramjeet Baweja, featuring Ajay Devgn in the lead role. The cast included Sonali Bendre, Amrish Puri, Madhoo, Parmeet Sethi, Farida Jalal, Shakti Kapoor, and Gulshan Grover.

The film’s budget was 5 crore, and it grossed 15.80 crore worldwide. Ajay Devgn’s performance was well-received. The film’s success led to subsequent collaborations.

The film’s soundtrack included popular songs like ‘Mera Mulk Mera Desh,’ ‘Ho Nahin Sakta,’ ‘Shaam Hai Dhuan Dhuan,’ and ‘Jiske Aane Se.’ The plot involves Radhika (Sonali Bendre), and Shyam (Ajay Devgn). Raja Saab (Shakti Kapoor) dislikes their relationship and causes Shyam’s father to be killed. Shyam is then declared a terrorist.

The film, which is available on G5 and YouTube, explores how Radhika discovers the truth.
