Diwali Bonus Dispute: Toll Gates Opened on Agra-Lucknow Expressway

A flash protest over a Diwali bonus saw toll gates flung open at the Fatehabad plaza on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, granting thousands of drivers a free pass. The dissatisfaction among 21 employees centered on a Rs 1100 bonus, which they felt was disproportionately low. The employer, Shri Sign & Datar, which has managed the plaza since March, defended the bonus amount by stating they were unable to provide a full year’s calculation due to the recent transition. A resolution was found when the company agreed to a 10% salary increment, satisfying the workers and leading to the restoration of normal toll collection.
